Superhero Girl 57

Hey, a superhero with a name! I love drawing Spectacle, with her big ponytail and arm socks. She's so cute.

Anyway, there's a long personal reason behind this strip, but I don't really feel like getting into it. Just chalk it up to 'sometimes you have crappy days/weeks/months, and you can't imagine that anyone would ever enjoy the work you're putting out there, and when they say they do, it's kind of a shock and you don't believe them' feelings. Yeah. <:)

  1. I really enjoy the work you put out here, even if shocks you and you don't believe me.

  2. I wonder if you want to wear a skirt when you're flying over people's heads...

  3. Spectacle is the perfect name for her. It fits so well...

I have to say, from the strip so far, I understand both SHG's confusion at being an inspiration and the fact that she was one. On one hand: her mom nags her, she enemy gets the job she was interviewing for, and the media misunderstands her completely when she was just trying to save her brother from a hipster super-villain with a shrink-ray.

On the other hand, she totally flung a giant octo-kitty monster into space.

    :)

  6. We don't get enough arm socks in superhero fashion. Thank you for your attempts to make them a thing. :)

  7. Like any self-respecting be-skirted superhero, Spectacle wears bike shorts under her skirt. :)

  9. I love the name, but she'll always be Glasses Girl to me. =^-^=

Though I do love the double-meaning to her name. :)

  10. Baffling, yeah, but still something like that has got to make your day.

I agree with Robert, the name is awesome.

  13. Know exactly how she got her powers.

    Industrial accident.

    Fell into a lens-grinding machine.

    Made a Spectacle of herself.
