Hey, a superhero with a name! I love drawing Spectacle, with her big ponytail and arm socks. She's so cute.
Anyway, there's a long personal reason behind this strip, but I don't really feel like getting into it. Just chalk it up to 'sometimes you have crappy days/weeks/months, and you can't imagine that anyone would ever enjoy the work you're putting out there, and when they say they do, it's kind of a shock and you don't believe them' feelings. Yeah. <:)
I really enjoy the work you put out here, even if shocks you and you don't believe me.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you want to wear a skirt when you're flying over people's heads...
ReplyDeleteSpectacle is the perfect name for her. It fits so well...
ReplyDeleteI have to say, from the strip so far, I understand both SHG's confusion at being an inspiration and the fact that she was one. On one hand: her mom nags her, she enemy gets the job she was interviewing for, and the media misunderstands her completely when she was just trying to save her brother from a hipster super-villain with a shrink-ray.
On the other hand, she totally flung a giant octo-kitty monster into space.
:)
I wondered what the symbol on her shirt was. Now I know.
ReplyDeleteI too enjoy the work you put out there. Thanks!
Awwww
ReplyDeleteI like Superhero Girl so much.
We don't get enough arm socks in superhero fashion. Thank you for your attempts to make them a thing. :)
ReplyDeleteLike any self-respecting be-skirted superhero, Spectacle wears bike shorts under her skirt. :)
ReplyDeleteSensible! Especially in the north.
ReplyDeleteI love the name, but she'll always be Glasses Girl to me. =^-^=
ReplyDeleteThough I do love the double-meaning to her name. :)
Baffling, yeah, but still something like that has got to make your day.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Robert, the name is awesome.
Oh, believe it. I promise you, they're telling you the truth.
ReplyDeleteI, also, enjoy the work you put out here. :-)
ReplyDeleteKnow exactly how she got her powers.
ReplyDeleteIndustrial accident.
Fell into a lens-grinding machine.
Made a Spectacle of herself.
