Superhero Girl 24

A momentous moment, readers! It's our first peek at Superhero Girl without a mask! ... although still with a mask like shape on her face. heheh. I like that Superhero Girl works regular 9-5 hours at her superhero gig. No late nights/weekends of work for her. Unlike me. :P

On a more somber note, my fellow First Second cartoonist Zack Giallongo is dealing with some crazy medical bills and is offering commissions for the dirt cheap price of $30 a pop to try and pay for them. Go here to commission some great art and help Zack out in the process. I'm a big fan of Zack's work, so ... commission him! I did. :)

  1. Oh dear! I shouldn't laugh but that's just... amusing! ^^ I'm surprised we saw her with her mask off, to be honest! ^^;;

  2. Originally I wanted her never to appear in the comic without her mask, but it became kind of an issue when I wanted her to go out as, y'know, a normal human and not Superhero Girl. So she took it off. Still doesn't have a name other than Superhero Girl, tho.

  3. I always thought it was cool that Will Eisner's The Spirit wore his mask all the time, even sleeping in it. Superhero Girl is in good company.

    I commissioned Zack for an illo of Conan.

  4. Hi! I just spent the past hour reviewing all the Superhero Girl archives (hadn't been on Twitter for months, didn't even know you had started this comic…), and I think I just laughed myself silly right there in front of my computer! (My cat was looking at me funny, until I showed her. Then she started laughing as well.)

    Well, all I wanted to say was--there is something strangely endearing about panel 4… You know you're in good hands when you see your local superhero is taking a proper lunch break and eating a cheese sandwich. :)

  6. The sandwich panel was a great one. Love her expression and the dangling boots on the wall.

  7. Charles >> Awesome. I'm sure Zack'll draw a great Conan. I asked for a Roy Mustang (FMA) drawing, 'cause I'm a fangirl. XD

    Bystrouska>> So glad you enjoyed it!

  8. Hah hah I've always thought that maintaining a secret identity would be impossible, not only for things like that, but even modest forensic work would trip up a hero before long.

    "Hmm, it seems he left fingerprints in this steel girder"
