Superhero Girl 86

Even though there's no hanky-panky going on, Superhero Girl's roommate should have put a sock on the doorknob or something. Also, I enjoy that dressing in civilian clothing means Superhero Girl just puts a zip up hoodie over her superhero costume. Doesn't even get rid of the cape or anything ...

So hey, this coming weekend, I will be at Hal-Con, Halifax's biggest science fiction/comics/other awesome stuff convention. I'm a guest, so I'll be on panels and stuff, talking up comics. I will have a table, where I'll be selling all my books as well as my self-published Superhero Girl book, and other stuff like prints, buttons and original art. So if you are native to Atlantic Canada, come to the convention and say hi! I will probably talk to you, especially if you bring me food.

  1. As always loving the Superhero girl comic…this one about her secret identity is classic….read the Wolverine goes shopping and it was funny…only I expected him at the end to say, “Wish I had some Canadian bacon to go with these eggs.”

  2. There is no such thing as "Canadian Bacon." Seriously. Canadians do not refer to anything pig related that they eat as "Canadian Bacon." It's an American name used to sell giant slabs of disgusting meat, and since Wplverine is Canadian, he would know that.

  3. Wait, I thought this comic was about Superhero Girl! Who's that completely not a superhero at all person in the last panel? I am overwhelmed by her normalness!

  4. I giggled when I saw she didn't even take off her cape, she's really not that good at this secret identity thing is she?

  5. Good call on the bacon thing. It's funny how Americans refer to back bacon as Canadian bacon, yet we don't call the disgusting strips of overly salted lard lining a very small quantity of pork as American bacon — although maybe we should. You can tell I'm a vegetarian, can't you?

  7. Isn't Wolverine an American-Canadian, or something?

Gah, it goes against every instinct I have to put the American part first.

What do you mean America isn't the center of the world? What? Do you need a cough drop?

…but yeah he moved to Canada?

It looks WRONG with the American part first! >.o

  8. I always wondered that about Superman - what did he do with his cape? If he always tucked it down the back of his pants, he would have looked like he was wearing diapers.

...Hmm, maybe that's why Lois never gave him the time of day?

  10. I was wondering if she can't fly but super jump like old school superman and also has super strength & heat vision, does that mean she also has or will have x-ray vision, freeze breath, and super speed? If so will she soon discover them or use them in action? If not, will she turn to some nerd for tech upgrades to grant her those powers or enhance her own?

  13. Wolverine was born in Calgary, last I heard.

Is it me, or do capes seem to be coming back as a thing in real-world fashion?
