Superhero Girl #100 (for reals)

Why lookie here, ladies and gents! It's a new Superhero Girl comic! Hurrah! It's summer time here in Halgonia, and thus, Superhero Girl has to deal with a heatwave. Good times!
Soooo ... I had hoped to get Superhero Girl updating again in the summer, and so far, all I have to show for it is this one comic. Originally my workload had been ... well, normal. Working on one graphic novel with a reasonable deadline, no problem at all. Sundays free for Superhero Girl comics. And then ... some more stuff happened. More jobs, more wonderful comics to draw, stuff that I am pretty damn thrilled to be a part of. Stuff that will probably not allow for regular Superhero Girl updates. So, whenever I have a Sunday that isn't quite as crazy as my regular Sundays, I will draw a Superhero Girl comic, but I can't promise any kind of regularity. We'll just see how it goes.
But I'll have some exciting news in a few months, exciting news for me, and exciting news for Superhero Girl as well! Hope you stick around. :)

  13. It's good to have you back, Faith, and I empathize about the break. Had to take off from my comic to study for the GMAT; going to do down now and work on it if there's time, or I'll watch Riders of Berk.

  15. Yay! You are back!

Is it me, or judging from Superhero Girl's interactions with people, does she come off as slightly Aspergers?

    1. She has bad ADHD, easily losing focus on the task at hand, only to focus on something else.

  16. Will we get to see Superhero Girl's response to the Avengers, Dark Knight, or other popular depictions of the Superhero lifestyle?

  23. It's a great comic, really funny but—flip flops? That doesn't seem like very sensible footwear for a superheroine, even if it is a scorching hot 40° Celcius!

I mean, think about it, she does one of those martial arts kicks and her shoe will go flying and probably land in some guys coffee or something!

Anyway, I believe clogs would be a much better choice for Superhero Girl. They'll keep her feet cool, and they won't go flying off every time she does one of those martial arts kicks.

    1. Depends on the individual, I have an easier time practicing martial arts in flip-flops. I mean, sure a tae kwon do "tornado kick" is a little bit awkward in flip-flops, but it just takes a bit of adjustment in your technique. Besides, most folks do the majority of their training barefoot anyways.

  24. Well, I am kind of concerned, since in my experience, which is surprisingly well funded regarding this topic, a second "hiatus", after the first release of an webcomic that was on hiatus, usually means the true and final end of the comic.
I know that I've read at least two comics were it went exactly this way, which is the reason I am, as mentioned before, concerned.

Also, read through the series in a single day... not bad!

  27. OMG OMG OMG There I was innocently browsing on Amazon UK; when I had the urge to type 'Faith Erin Hicks' into Books. What did I spy? Only The Adventures Of Superhero Girl pre-order!!! *FAINT* :D

    1. In that it is a black and white comic drawn by a human being? Why yes, I guess there are some similarities. Otherwise, nope.

  29. Hey there, a friend recommended SHG to me and I've read the whole archive over the last couple days. I'm a huge fan of the story so far and I know you're busy with other comics and work, but as a new fan I have to admit that I would love to see this comic pick back up with updates, even at once every other week if that's what you have time for. Thanks for creating a great form of entertainment!

  30. Hi, I'm a new fan too, who also just read through the whole archive...good stuff! I would love to see more SHG sometime, but I totally understand if you're not able to.

  31. Sigh, I'm really sad that this is finished. I'd have loved to read more.
