Superhero Girl 80


Aw, Kevin. And oh hey, this is comic #80! That is more than 79 or 78 but not as many as 100. I'm looking forward to having 100 comics drawn, for some reason.

Mike Maihack (previously of the awesome Supergirl/Batgirl fancomic) drew a very nifty Superhero Girl fanart recently, which got me thinking: my birthday's coming up (it's September 29th), and fanart is a pretty awesome thing to get on your birthday. So if you're someone who enjoys any of my comics (Demonology 101, Ice, Friends With Boys or Superhero Girl) and would like to throw some love my way, fanart would be a great birthday present, hint hint. ;)

    Aww. For the first time I see Kevin actually has layers and isn't just 100% bravado.

    Also for the first time I notice Kevin's wearing...striped pants? What was he thinking?!

    Sorry, Kevin, but a team needs teamwork, not one guy keeping his sister in the shadows. Not that I'm speaking as a younger sister, of course.

    Haha, I don't think Kevin has a heart of gold. But yes, he does have a personality beyond his Phil Ken Sebbin impersonation.

    As an older brother, I can see why Kevin wants to make himself known. It's called "Out With the Old and In With the New" syndrome. Kevin doesn't want to be outshone by Superhero Girl so he has the tendency to make her feel less then she is and look better to everyone, not on purpose. This motivates SHG to work harder. Kevin seems to genuinely love his sister as it make him feel good and confident when she is around.

    By the way, I love teenage SHG's outfit with the gloves and Ninja Turtle headband and ever so present, her Star Shirt. Surprised you didn't go with Star Girl, but I like Superhero Girl the best. Teenage SHG's outfit and Young Adult SHG outfit shows maturity like when Dick Greyson switched from being Robin to Nightwing(FYI In the Teen Titans episode were Nightwing appears, why is he short like he was in the past as Starfire traveled to the future?).

    Oh man! Bummer for Kevin. I feel bad for that guy. He wasn't an overconfident jerk! He was an insecure jerk! He needed the affirmation of sis to see it thru. Poor guy.

    I just noticed that besides the big K and strip pants, his outfit looks so very similar to Superhero Girl's costume!!
